This gives the impression that Joseph desired nothing more but to just see Benjamin for no other reason than to show him favor. Apparently, Judah had forgotten all about the espionage charges (Genesis 42.15); as far as he was concerned, he was not returning to Egypt unless he returned with Benjamin (Genesis 44:23).
