Genesis 1:29 - God Provideth

Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
Notice how God provides food for all, at its proper time (Psalm 136:25; Psalm 145:15). He makes the grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate (Psalm 104:14).  Consider the time immediately after the flood, there were no plants to eat, so God provided man the right to eat animals (Genesis 9:3).  Sometimes, we can't see the provisions that God is preparing for us; however, God always provides, in due season.

That vegan guy on youtube is persuasive, however, there is more to the Bible than the book of Genesis and many of God's people were meat eaters (i.e. the priests in Leviticus, Peter in Acts 10, etc.). Even Jesus ate fish and hung out with fishermen!

Good post!

I'm dont speak english. Very sorry! I'm from Brazil.

Thank you verry much for your attention!

Ça c'est les paroles de chanson de "Destiny", chantée pour la chanteuse serbie "Marija Serifovic"
Au revoir - The Flower of the South

It's been a long way
I try hard not to fall apart
Every night I pray
And your voice is singing in my heart

I have been waiting
A long time for you to take my hand
Loving and hating
A desire that I don’t understand

I can't breathe, I can't sleep
Why can't I get through to you?
I can't think, I can't speak
What am I to do?

Destiny
I’ve been looking for something to guide me
Destiny
Even though I’ve tried I can't deny you
If I let you go, I’d betray my soul
I know that this is something more
Even though nothing’s spoken for,
a way that you will feel the same ‘bout me
Destiny

(Instrumental)

Read the stars and see my scars
I feel so low when you’re away
So reach out, it’s not far
Listen to me pray

Destiny
I've been looking for something to guide me
Destiny
Even though I tried I can't deny you
If I let you go (let you go)
I betray my soul (my soul)
I know that this is something more
Even though (even though), nothing's spoken for (spoken for)
A way that you will feel the same
'bout mee.. ooohhh

If I let you go (let you go)
I betray my soul (my soul)
I know this is something more
Even though, (even though) nothing spoken for (spoken for)
I pray that you will feel the same 'bout me
Destiny

Faith is within of me
Destiny

I understand completely. It is healthier to consume fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and the like than it is for us to consume meat. My dear wife has spent long tracks of years giving up meat entirely, though, by habit and sheer laziness, I could scarcely do it myself.

I've heard told in many instances where some claim that consuming meat dulls their spiritual connection with God.

Man, like the bear, however, is omnivorous by God's design-- thus our canine fangs. I can't imagine how many lives have been saved in cold winters and unhospitable lands by hunting through eons of history.

We humans should do our best in all respects, however, and if one can manage it and receive all the nourishment they need, being a vegetarian is a most admirable and beneficial quality.

You gotta be a liberal!

If you think Gods calls us to be vegans then you dont understand the rest of Genesis about us having dominion over the Earth & animals & you havent read the New Testament or understand when the apostles taught about being able to eat whatever we want & not to judge a man by it. Ya know....when we moved away from the 'Law' of Moses & the Jews.

Pork is awesome!!!

Dont turn the Bible into something it isnt. Stick with the foundations: Biblical Truth & JESUS. Dont put yer feeling into it, lib.

You should direct all yer followers over to the #1 Christian blog.

Wow, Flipper. Why are you so critical and so vain.

Pork does taste good. I eat it too, but I try to avoid it as much as possible because it's not healthy to eat it all the time.

I was just making a point on how God intended things to be. We can learn a lot from that. Look at Daniel and how healthy he was from the foods he ate.

Jesus ate fish.
Jesus is God.
Ergo, God ate fish.

Jesus ate the Passover.
The Passover includes lamb.
Ergo, Jesus ate lamb.
Jesus is God.
Ergo, God ate lamb.

How very interesting. I agree with Dave. In fact, I have personally found that a good balance of fresh unprocessed foods, along exercise is the key to having more energy and a longer more fruitful life.

Fascinating blog.

I agree with Beowulf, God commanded all Israel to eat lamb at passover and the priests to eat the cooked meat of the animals that were sacrificed on the altar, so this argument really doesn't hold water scripturally when you take the whole Bible into consideration.
