Genesis 24:2 - In the name of God's covenant with Abraham.

This oath binding ceremony has been found to used by the Babylonians. However, given area of where the hand is placed, some believe that the oath has relevance to the covenant of circumcision regarding the promised seed of the patriarch, Abraham.
